Today I set up to do some screen printing at home. I had cut these arrow shapes as stencils. Using a screen of dots that I had exposed I used both of these to experiment and play with the shapes and the screen of dots. I like the use of the solid and heavy line arrow as a contrast and connectivity. From here I like the prospect of creating a simple pattern that could be used within the shapes, I also wanted to experiment with stretching and morphing these arrow shapes from a single dot. From one point that spreads out into the community and grows. This is moving into a motion graphic but I aim to take stills from this and develop a visual language that can be used throughout my designed outcomes.
Stuart shared this project: https://portorocha.com/museu-nacional. I liked the simplicity of its use of the die cut circle. I have explored this concept in a similar way to these visuals for my project. There was a simplicity to this experimentation that allowed for anything to go. Considering just the three elements I was able to be loose with the positioning and layout as I was more concerned with the overall look and feel rather than legibility. These visuals in areas are a little more experimental than maybe the direction I had started with but its an interesting change.
